happylittleknitterall about my yarn adventures
August 20 Baby, baby, baby Ugh! I have not been a good knitting blogger. Life is really big these days. Baby is due in about 5 weeks and knitting hasn't been my top priority since finding out I was pregnant. I think it takes too much brain power for me and with "pregnancy brain" I'm pretty much wiped out on that frontier.
I have been making some sweaters and I started a baby blanket but don't have enough yarn for the border. I'm going to go in search of it, hopefully, today online. I also got the pattern for the Dana Bag that I spoke of way back in Feb (my last post) and am making it with Cascade 220. It is much more involved than I expected, esp since it is not in the round as I am used to with bags. Should I ever be inclined to make another one, I will modify the pattern for round knitting.
Ok, that's all I have. Hope everyone has a blessed day! February 09 In search ofI am in search of a pattern that looks a bit like this, although maybe solid rather than fair isle. I really just want something kinda on the big side with inside and outside pockets... any ideas?:
January 08 More Finished ItemsI have been working on getting liners into some of my already felted bags. That is my least favorite part, but the part that makes the bag complete for me. I am posting pics of a black bag I finished up today. From the pics it appears that I need to move my pin over just a tad. The pin really jazzed up the bag, which was plain black on the outside and it can be changed up later for a different look. I like that idea. I'm also posting some pics of a dish cloth I made a few months ago but had yet to weave in the ends. It ended up not quite square so I think it will be mine. I LOVE the stitch pattern though and I think I'll make some more for gifts and maybe for sale... depends on how things go. These pics could have been better but the way the sun was coming through the door it was hard to get a good shot at that time of day... I'll have to remember to get pics in the mornings. January 01 Fingerless Gloves Anyone?I am totally in love with Fingerless Gloves, this pattern anyway. I found I didn't like the original pattern so much so I changed it to make it more suitable to my tastes.
I am hoping to make some for gifts and to possibly sell a pair or two to someone who loves them too. I think $40 is fair for the luxurious yarn used and the time and effort involved in making them. The yarn is 55% Merino wool, 33% Microfibre, 12% Cashmere and is sumptuous.
I've never sold my treasures before so this is a new experience. I may post on ebay, yahoo, and or etsy. We'll see. If you are interested please email me or leave me a comment.
Have a lovely day! December 09 Christmas is coming... FASTI'm busily working on Christmas projects. On a whim I decided to make stockings. Trey has some pretty concrete ideas on the colors he wanted, and how he wanted them, but I had to break it to him that the Lamb's Pride white just was not going to felt like the other colors and we would have to find a different way to incorporate the white. If we put it with the others and washed it it would get a weird shape. I think he gets it, or at least he is feeling like I know what I'm talking about. The purple one is out of Lopi and it is mine. The red and green one is for Trey. Haven't started on Daddy's yet, we are going to see how much this one felts first.
Hope everyone is having a happy holiday season!
